Elizabeth Biddle
Lighting Artist
Elizabeth Biddle: INFP Mediator
I’m currently in Vancouver and have spent the last few years in London but my home is in Indiana, the crossroads of America. Growing up I loved to catch frogs in the creek, watch fireflies at night, and enjoy sledding in the snow. Exploring the world around me is what led me to become an artist.
I enjoy tent camping and hiking in all kinds of terrain. Getting out into the fresh air and exploring is what I love most. I usually end up taking loads of pictures with my camera while hiking. Observing things around me helps strengthen my color theory, lighting techniques, and even pinpointing the emotions I want to bring out in my artwork.
My Midwestern work ethic continues to define my methodologies, approach to the production pipeline, and desire to achieve quality shot quotas while still exploring creative expressions. Seldom content, I continue to set new levels of excellence for my work and life. I’m also learning how to leverage different skill sets among my teammates to maintain an optimal balance of quality and performance deadlines.
While being an international student in England, I realized having an interest in learning the cultures and people around me strengthens my narrative in lighting. I love to watch a variety of films and television shows and play different RPGs and world building games. Listening to others and having an interest in diverse cultures lets me create and explore fictional worlds better.
I’m keen on learning more about story development to one day direct a feature length film. I enjoy creating characters and the worlds they live in. Even though I’m working with 3D, I often find myself drawing and creating storyboards in my free time.
Often daydreaming about what adventure to have next, I’ve learned to take bold steps to achieve those dreams while also leaving space to experience the unexpected. With all of life's difficulties, lighting and art has helped me take a step back and to see the beauty of the world around me.
